Laura Lavell Adams, age 95 of Van Alstyne, TX passed away Friday, February 24, 2012 in Sherman, TX. She was born on November 15, 1916 in Collin County, TX to Robert Dudley and Lola (Criswell) Phillips. Laura married James Adams. She was a homemaker and a member of the Baptist Faith. Laura is survived by her two brothers, Tony Phillips of Sherman, TX and David Phillips of Denison, TX; two sisters, Billie Biggerstaff and Genita Harden, both of Van Alstyne, TX; and several nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death were her parents, husband, James Adams and siblings, Joy Young, Sally Hendricks and Alva “Nank” Phillips. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Tuesday, February 28, 2012 at the Scoggins Funeral Home Chapel in Van Alstyne. Visitation will be held at 1:00 P.M., Tuesday, prior to the service. Interment will follow at Cedarlawn Memorial Park in Sherman.
